"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9"

My Testimony

In 1997 I made a Christian profession of faith.. It was a time of studying the bible, learning and seeking the Lord and His plan for my life. However, on October 31, 2004, I went on my first outreach trip to Hollywood, our purpose was to share our faith by preaching and handing out gospel tracts. I remember being gripped with so much fear as we entered Hollywood that I could not even breath. I just asked my friends to please pray that the Lord would break through that weekend. We set up on Hollywood Blvd. I stood on the corner listening to my friend preach the gospel and my heart was pierced as he asked the crowds these questions…. “Do you think you are a good person? My answer was “yes” Do you think that will save you from God’s wrath? Have you ever lied? “yes” That makes you a liar, Have you ever stolen anything regardless of value? “yes” That makes you a thief. Jesus said "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.' But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment”. Have you ever been angry? Wow… I was full of anger and un-forgiveness in my heart… Jesus also said "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Have you ever looked with lust? “yes, I’m guilty!” Then the preacher asked, if you were to stand before a Holy, Righteous, Just God on Judgment Day and He were to judge you based on His standard, the 10 commandments, would you be guilty or innocent? “I’m guilty” Would you go to Heaven or Hell? “I’d go to Hell!” Does that concern you? “yes” At that moment I realized that I was just “playing” Christian and had not been born-again. I was so broken over my sin and realized that I had offended a Holy God and deserved the penalty of hell that was due! I finally repented (agreed with God of how exceedingly sinful my sin is to God and turned from my sin), I fell on my face before the God of the universe and asked for forgiveness. He then did a miracle in my life by replacing my prideful, selfish heart with a heart that longs to please and follow Him. Now I hate the things God hates (lies, pride, sexual immorality, hate, blasphemy, etc.) and Love the things God Loves (faithfulness, kindness, patience, peace, humbleness, goodness, holiness, truth & righteousness- all that is right). You see, I realized that my profession of faith means nothing to Jesus unless I am born-again! "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
Jesus paid my fine when He took the due penalty for my sin on the cross. God almighty sent down His great wrath (that He is storing up for all our sins) upon Jesus on the cross 2000 years ago. “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Jesus whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Jesus from the dead." Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
I care about your soul, not about winning you over to my “religion”. My prayer is that you would consider your eternal destiny! Kevin Borden
